Veterans Day is an opportunity to recognize and honor all those who have served in our country’s military and show appreciation for their sacrifices and services.
Today there are close to 19 million veterans in the United States. Depending on the veteran’s circumstances, returning to civilian life can involve a variety of changes and challenges.
We want to use this observance to remind everyone that Employee Assistance Programs can be an excellent resource for supporting veterans and their family members—during this transition period and long afterward.
Most people know that EAPs help address mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance abuse. However, many EAPs have expanded their services to address everyday challenges that can interfere with work or life.
For example, at AllOne Health, our EAPs can help veterans and their family members address legal and financial challenges, get help navigating health care and insurance, and even help secure medical equipment and community resources.
Our veterans have supported us. Let’s make sure our veterans and their family members have the support they need to move forward. EAPs can play an important role in guiding the way. We encourage everyone to become more familiar with their EAP and its services.
