Student Assistance Program
Our Student Assistance Program is designed to help students succeed in their education by providing support outside of the classroom. Our goal is to help students maximize their potential through the right insights and support from a multi-disciplinary staff that includes doctors, licensed clinical social workers and mental health specialists.
Helping students succeed in their education can mean providing some assistance outside of the classroom, too. When a student is overwhelmed, stressed – or even just distracted – by personal or lifestyle situations, they can’t perform to their fullest potential.
33% of college students felt so depressed in the last 12 months that it was difficult to function. That includes not being able to attend class and fulfill in and out of classroom obligations. Reports show that 1 in 4 college-aged student currently live with a diagnosable mental illness. Those are startling numbers that show a trend of students suffering from issues that could be resolved with outside help and resource. Although most college have counseling centers, there has been a 30% increase of college students seeking help, although enrollment has only grown bt 5%. This has led to unresolved cases, students that fall out of mental health care and issues continuing to thrive.
